Jury appointed by FIBT Executive Committee
Must hold an F.I.B.T. License as Judge

Canadian Championships

Jury appointed by Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton
Must hold an F.I.B.T. License as Judge
or a National “A” License.

Provincial Championships

Jury appointed by Alberta Bobsleigh
Must hold an National “B” License or higher.

Alberta Cups

Jury appointed by Alberta Bobsleigh
Must hold an National “B” License or higher.

Duties of a Jury Member

  • The jury is the senior authority of the event and ensures that the F.I.B.T. rules are followed.
  • technical checks of bobsleds
  • any change of the ice temperature for tracks with artificial cooling
  • change of bobsleigh
  • change of runners
  • change of crew
  • repetition of the heat
  • weight control
  • decision about protests
  • execution of the draw
  • closing of the run
  • penalties in case of infringements
  • the number of pilot bobs
  • President of Jury signs final results of the competition, and checks all competition licenses
  • The Jury has the power to take any decisions regarding the competition in question, that are not specified in the Rules.
